KPCSW Members Update On 16-01-2017Govt of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Zakat, Ushr, Social Welfare, Special Education and Women Empowerment Department issued a notification to reconstitute the Khyber Pakhtukhwa Commission on Status of Women with following members.

She has done Ph.d from University of Massachusetts; and Masters from Peshawar University Pakistan. She worked 20 years with UNICEF as Project Officer, Education Specialist, Child Protection Specialist responsible for working closely with the Government and NGOs in the areas of Child Protection and Education. She also worked as Assistant Professor in SZABIST (Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science and Technology University Islamabad, teaching four courses of Social Sciences and Development Studies. Currently appointed as the New Chairperson of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Commission on the Status of Women.

Ms Shagufta Malik

Ms. Shagufta Malik is a Pakistani politician who has been a member of the Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa since August 2020. She was elected to the Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as a candidate of Pakistan Awami National Party (ANP) on a reserved seat for women in 2020 Pakistani general election. She is appointed as the official member of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Commission on the Status of Women for the term (2020 – 2023)

Ms Rabia Basri is a Pakistani politician who has been a member of the Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa since August 2020. She was elected to the Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as a candidate of Pakistan tahreek Insaf (PTI) on a reserved seat for women in 2020 Pakistani general election. She is appointed as the official member of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Commission on the Status of Women for the term (2020 – 2023).

Ms. Nasreen Khattak has a Master degree in Social Works and is computer literate. With over 20 years experience in major aspects of integrated community development, women in development, training and planning, she is widely recognized gender issue specialist in the region. She has worked as a consultant, advisor, team leader, coordinator, master trainer, planner and member of several working groups with international, region and national agencies both in the private organizations

Shabnam

Ms. Shabnam Nawaz Awan 

(Advocate, Human Rights Activist)

 

Shabnam Nawaz is practicing lawyer at  High Court Peshawar and Abbottabad for the past 20 years now. Her expertise is cases related to human rights violation. And she keeps filing public interest petitions where women rights violations are involved. she also delivers lectures that raise awareness to women colleges and universities regarding Cyber crimes and how they can secure themselves and what their legal rights and laws are.. She also raises awareness through TV channels and Radio as well.

Samina

Dr. Samina Afridi

 

Dr. Samina Afridi has completed her PhD in Ethics, philosophy of gender, Pashtun thought and Culture Modern political thought philosophy of Science.

She is member of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Commission on the Status of Women (KPCSW) and teaching various courses of philosophy, including Ethics, Modern European philosophy, Muslim Philosophy and philosophy of sciences, gender sensitive reporting at various departments of Peshawar University, such as Biotechnology, Journalism & Mass Communication and Area study center, university of Peshawar since 2002.

Her major research areas are philosophy Gender, Feminism, Tribal Areas, Pashtun though and culture, women rights, Tribal Women, Women, Afghan Women, Peace & Conflict resolution, Ethics, tribal political thoughts and culture and Oral History.

Syeda Kaneez Fatimah Haider

Professor Dr. Syeda Kaneez Fatimah Haider

Professor Dr. Syeda Kaniz Fatima Haider has done her Ph.d and Masters from Peshawar University Pakistan. She is engaged with University of Peshawar from last 30 years as educationist, researcher, and child psychologist. She is heading department of human development and family studies. She is the first registered female member and coordinator of Think First National Injury Prevention Foundation USA from Pakistan, member of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Commission on the Status of Women.

She is a researcher, motivational speaker, trainer and a member of many academic and government bodies. She has many national and international papers at her credit and organized many national and international conferences, training, workshops and seminars. She is the member senate of three universities and member of selection board also

She is activity working from 2000 till date in raising awareness among students and their families about head injury prevention and Down syndrome children

 Her area of specialization is Gender dysphonia and is the 1st PhD from Kp and is working for rights of transgender since 2003 till date.

Ms-Huma-Khan-

Ms. Huma Khan

Ms. Huma khan has been working in the Development Sector in KP, Punjab, and Sindh. Huma khan is currently working with the Acid Survivors foundation As a Monitoring and Evaluation Coordinator. She worked 8 years in the field of women’s Protection, Empowerment, and legal informative justice in close collaboration with the Government, NGOs, and other relevant stakeholders. She is a trainer, researcher, and member of the EVAWG alliance, CRM ( Child Rights Movement) working on women/child rights, improved governance, gender equality, and women empowerment on federal and provincial levels.

Ms. Noreen Naseer

Ms. Noreen Naseer

Dr. Noreen Naseer is a resident of Kurram, Newly Merged Tribal Districts and is a faculty in the Department of Political Science, University of Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. She is working on the issues of the tribal women of Newly Merged Tribal Districts since 1998 and a founding member of Qabailee Khor (Tribal Sisters Network). She is also a part of online outreach program of the Women Regional Network and a visiting scholar to ETH Center For Security Studies, Zurich. She has several publications in international and academic journals on Pak-Afghan border areas’ conflict, peace building and issues related to women and children. Her work entitled FATA “A Permanent War Zone”: Breaking Silence published in “Women and Politics of Peace: South Asia Narratives on Militarization, Power and Justice”, Sage Publication December 2016 is a pioneer research on women living in the Pak-Afghan borderland. For her efforts on peace building and tribal women’s plight, she was a nominee for N- Peace Un-Told Stories Award, 2018 by the United Nations Development Program.

Ms. Noreen Naseer

Ms. Aasia Jehangir has done her Master degree in political Science from Peshawar University. She has a long professional career and worked with various department and institutions on different high level positions. Presently she is working as Chairperson MTI Bannu and a Member of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Commission on the Status of Women (KPCSW).  Aasia khan jehangeer is an enterprising Business women and comes from apolitical and bearuecretic Background from Bannu district Khyber pakhtunkwa. She is the owner of a Cafe named Cafina in Peshawar.  Before this, she had worked as Former Minister for Social Welfare and Culture, Member of Reforms Committee on prisons, Member of common wealth Entrepreneur Club, Member of research and Nomination council of Health care commission, Senior Vice President of Women Chamber of Commerce Peshawar and Member of Compliant Council of PEMRA. Her passion of social work motivated her to setup a welfare organization, Hope welfare Foundation in Peshawar which launched welfare schemes for improving the life of downtrodden and less privileged class of the society particularly women.

Mr. Muhammad Ikram Khan from district Swabi is a high profile personnel. He is a highly qualified with rich education background having studied from both national and International level. He has a civil secretariat services background and has worked on various influential positions that include Additional secretary P&D, civil secretariat Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Director General Environment and Director Transport Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Additional Secretary power Power Department Khyber, National Project Director Gender Mainstreaming Project Pakhtunkhwa, Special Secretary Planning and Development Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, provincial project Director Sustainable Land Management Project, Additional charge of Provincial Project Director Gender Base Governance Project, member of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Public Service Commission and is a member of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Commission on the status of women. He is an asset for the commission having a rich experience he guides the commission in a positive way in order to avoid any situation that may result in negative consequences for the commission. His suggestions and recommendations are highly acknowledged by the commission

Ms.Hira Waqar Official Member

Ms. Hira Waqar has done her Master’s Degree in Development Sciences from Institute Of Management Sciences and bachelor’s Honours Degree in Economics from Jinnah College Peshawar.

She is member of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Commission on the Status of Women from 2020 to 2023 and human rights activist. She has worked with few well reputed National and International organizations including UN agencies for the upholding of women rights and girls education. Presently she is engaged with UNDP as education office.

Ms. Mala Kumari

Ms. Mala Kumari

Ms. Mala Kumari belongs to Parchinar and is Member of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Commission on the Status of Women form 2020 t0 2023. She is social activist from 2010 and leading minorities of the area as President of Kurram Minorities Organization Kurram Agency. Currently working as manager Operation of Hindu Sudhar Sabha of Khyber Pakhunkhwa region and also a volunteer President of Hindu Sikh Panchayat Committee Kurram agency (Upper and Lower Kurram). She has also worked as a Social Organizer with SRSP (FLADP) and worked in Field of Schools Monitoring built by SRSP for 7 years.

From 2018 till date she is running multiple self-businesses in Peshawar (Salon, Gym, and Photo Studio) and also managing women Training center to empower women and enhance their own economic sources.
